
The prosthetic consultant for CEHAP is Carl D. Brenner, C.P.O., FAAOP.
Mr. Brenner has been practicing in Southeastern Michigan for the past 35 years and is one of the few upper limb specialists in North America, whose practice has been devoted primarily to fitting upper limb pediatric prostheses for the past 25 years.
He is the Director of Prosthetic Research at the Michigan Institute for Electronic Limb Development and has fit hundreds of electronic hand and bionic arm prostheses to child amputees with a traumatic amputation or birth anomaly resulting in a congenital limb deficiency.
Mr. Brenner has also pioneered several innovations in the field of pediatric upper limb prosthetics including those listed below:
First successful fitting of a 12 month old infant with 2site/2function myoelectronic prosthesis in 1985.
Development of temporary/ preparatory electronic artificial limbs using electronic limb bank components to prepare, evaluate and train children to use permanent electronic prostheses.
